Finding patterns.
Asking why.
I’m Cristina, a high school student in Switzerland who enjoys exploring mathematical ideas, patterns, and proofs.
↗01 / About
I’m a Grade 10 student guided by curiosity, perseverance, and the belief that mathematics becomes most interesting beyond the syllabus.
I have studied in Switzerland for seven years. My interest in mathematics grew when schoolwork began to feel repetitive and I realised how much more there was to discover.
I especially enjoy graph theory because its ideas are visual and can be explored from a fresh starting point. Before solving a problem, I like to understand its context and see the bigger picture.
Beyond mathematics, I enjoy skiing, badminton, drawing, and piano. With VEX team 15520X Mech_It_Happen, I won Switzerland’s Excellence Award and attended the 2026 VEX World Championships.

02 / Explorations
Investigations, proofs, and problem solving
01
An investigation into proof
An independent exploration of patterns, conjectures, and the reasoning that turns an observation into a convincing argument.
02
Mathematics across disciplines
An interdisciplinary investigation into how mathematical ideas connect with questions in philosophy or psychology.
03
A problem-solving journal
A growing collection of difficult problems, incomplete attempts, elegant solutions, and the lessons found between them.
03 / Mathematical path
A few points along the way
Now
Studying mathematics in Switzerland
Building a strong mathematical foundation while exploring ideas beyond the classroom through independent questions and problem solving.
2026
A mathematical challenge
An intensive month at Yau Mathcamp changed how I respond when effort alone is not enough.

04 / Other activities
Life and learning beyond mathematics
There is more to my story than the problems I solve.
This section brings together the activities, communities, and interests that shape how I collaborate, contribute, and grow.
Leadership & collaboration
Clubs, teams, and shared projects that have taught me how to listen, organise, and work thoughtfully with others.
Community & service
Experiences through which I can contribute to my school and wider community, while learning from the people around me.
Creative & personal interests
The interests beyond academics that give me new perspectives, restore my curiosity, and shape who I am becoming.
Travel
Places, cultures, and encounters that broaden my perspective and help me see familiar questions in new ways.
