Look beyond the syllabus
My curiosity grew when school mathematics began to feel repetitive and I realised how much more there was to learn.
01 / About
I’m Cristina, a Grade 10 student who has studied in Switzerland for seven years. I’m curious about the mathematics beyond the syllabus and the ideas that connect it with other ways of understanding the world.
How I think
01
My curiosity grew when school mathematics began to feel repetitive and I realised how much more there was to learn.
02
I begin by understanding the question, its context, and the knowledge it requires. In proofs, I want a direction and a bigger picture before writing the details.
03
Graph theory especially appeals to me because I can see relationships directly and explore a rich topic without depending entirely on earlier school material.
Beyond mathematics
As part of VEX team 15520X Mech_It_Happen, I helped earn the Excellence Award at the Swiss qualification competition and attended the 2026 VEX World Championships. I also enjoy skiing, badminton, drawing, and playing piano.
Looking forward
These are the values I want to carry into further study. At university, I hope to study mathematics—possibly through an interdisciplinary direction that connects it with another field.
